Jason made it a clean sweep starting outside pole in the heat
and taking the checkered in first then starting in the third row
in the feature and making a last lap pass for the win!
Thoennes captures his first feature win of
2008
Jason and the crew have been anxiously awaiting spring and
more importantly wanting the 2008 Wissota racing season to
begin. Everything is ready to go and there are no big
changes on the agenda for 2008. Once again, Jason will
be competing in the Wissota Modified division on a full time
basis at Viking Speedway in Alexandria MN and KRA Speedway
in Willmar MN. The first race of the season is slated
for Saturday April 26th at Viking Speedway (weather
permitting). The KRA season opener is set for May 1st.
The 2007 season proved to be
successful for Jason and the whole Thoennes Motorsports
team. Jason finished the season off strong with three
clean sweeps in the last five nights to secure 5th place in
the Wissota Modified National points. He also
successfully defended his KRA Speedway Championship
wrangling in the 2007 KRA Speedway Modified track champion.
To cap the year off he also won some prestigious events
including the Wissota Western 100 in Aberdeen, South Dakota,
The Winternationals also in Aberdeen South Dakota, the KRA
Fall Festival and the KRA Mod Blowout both in Willmar, MN.
Overall, the team notched 10 feature wins in 44 events.
